It’s pretty much a guarantee that any lotion from France that comes in a box with its own instructional insert is going to be deluxe. And trust me, Mustela 9 Month Maternity, Stretch Mark Double Action lotion is!
The purpose of the lotion is two-fold (hence Double Action): to prevent stretch marks and to minimize recent stretch marks. When I was pregnant, I did NOT use the lotion twice daily (as the instructions suggest), mostly due to my own laziness (I let a lot of things slide when I was pregnant), and I did end up with stretch marks… so many stretch marks that my husband now refers to my belly as “the Zebra”. However, we cannot fault this to the product, since I did not follow their instructions.
Whether or not I ended up looking like a zebra is somewhat irrelevant, because this lotion was such a dream to apply. It was like a mini trip to the spa every time I rubbed it on my over-sized belly. The texture is truly unlike any other lotion I have ever encountered. This product is not designed for the mommy-diva-on-a-dime (it retails about $38/bottle), however, I truly believe it is worth every penny. I have yet to try any other Mustela products, but if they are anywhere near as fab as this one, then bring them on!
