This is the kind of product we Spilt Milk Moms just love. A resourceful mom saw the need for a product, created it, and is now being praised by the likes of us for being so fabulous! How familiar are the stories of the melting puddle of Popsicle, the dropped ice-cream cone, and the I-only-have two-hands-how-am-I-going-to-carry-my-kid-hold-back-the-dog-and-salvage-this-delicious-frozen-treat? Well fret no more – Mecinna Price, mother of five, has invented a solution to these problems. It’s called the Dripstik.
The Dripstik is a simple plastic handle with two different ends. Each end has a bowl (as you can see in the picture), but one end has a hole just the right size to fit an ice-cream cone, while the other end has a slit that perfectly fits a Popsicle stick. This way your child can eat their treat at their own pace without creating a huge mess on their clothes, the furniture, or whatever else they happen to be near. Another brilliant aspect of the Dripstik is that since the base is flat you can put your treat down! Imagine you are struggling to write a blog post while enjoying a Moose Tracks ice-cream cone, get a brain wave, and must start typing furiously before all of your brilliancy leaks out of your brain. Well, you can simply put down the Dripstik and type away without a worry (if you have never had Moose Track flavoured ice-cream I strongly recommend you hunt some down). Or, your child decides that after whining and begging for a Popsicle for half an hour that he/she only really wanted five licks, they can put it down instead letting you hold onto it while it melts down your forearm (not that we ever give in to our children’s whining…right?).
