When I first heard about Tiny Teethers’ hazelwood teething necklaces for babies, I pictured babies chewing on them they way my dog makes short work of a stick in the park. Then I found out that these necklaces work by just wearing them, because hazelwood has natural properties that absorb and neutralize acidity through the skin to help naturally soothe teething pains. I was intrigued … especially because I definitely prefer to try natural solutions for my child’s discomforts before moving on to whatever modern medicine has to offer.
Oliver first started wearing his hazelwood necklace (that’s him in the green and blue model) about four or five months ago, and while he was already over a year old, he was working on those painful molars in the back of his mouth. The symptoms of these teeth coming in included discomfort, general crankiness, drooling, and my toddler attempting to fit his entire fist into his mouth at every opportunity. When we were offered the chance for Oliver to try one of the Tiny Teethers hazelwood necklaces to alleviate his teething symptoms, we went for it and had great results.
After only a few weeks of Oliver wearing the necklace every day, I noticed the following:
- Oliver was drooling far less.
- There were less attempts at trying to swallow his hand whole in an attempt to soothe his poor gums.
- Because he was far less cranky, and so was everyone else in the house – bonus! Also, Oliver was sleeping much better at night.
- Oliver LOVES his necklace so much that he asks me to put it on for him every single morning when he wakes up. Also, he gets compliments on it wherever we go. Each of these necklaces, which come in various different colour combinations (the website doesn’t do them justice), is really beautiful, and Oliver looks like he’s ready to hit the surf in his. As a piece of functional jewelry, these necklaces are great for both boys and girls.
Hazelwood necklaces are not just for teething babies, but for the whole family as well. The natural benefits of wearing hazelwood close to the skin include helping with constipation, digestion, eczema, migraines, acid reflux, nausea, arthritis, skin problems, and a multitude of other health issues. The company also highly recommends their necklaces for pregnant women suffering from acid reflux, heartburn, nausea, and indigestion, and says that one of the biggest reasons aside from teething that parents buy their baby a necklace is for help with eczema. Therefore, Tiny Teethers offers a selection of hazelwood necklaces for both children and adults (the adult line also includes anklets, bracelets, and watches as well as ointments and lotions).
For those of you concerned about your child’s safety while wearing a necklace, these necklaces have a special safety feature which allows the necklace to come apart at the loops in the clasp if pressure is applied. By coming apart in this way, the beads themselves remain on the necklace should it break, preventing the small pieces from becoming a choking hazard. If you aren’t comfortable with your baby wearing the necklace at night, consider putting it around the baby’s ankle or wrist. Hazelwood only needs to be against the skin to be effective.
Tiny Teethers is a Canadian company with a great 10 year track record and all of their products are safe, natural, organic, and made on-site. Native Americans were the first to realize the healing properties hazelwood has to offer, and now it’s your turn! If you have a teething baby, trying one of these beautiful necklaces is a must. For me, the additional bonus is that these necklaces are a natural, beautiful piece of jewelry for both boys and girls, and I would have bought one for Oliver for this reason alone.
Children’s hazelwood necklaces retail on the Tiny Teethers site for $16.00 CAD (with FREE shipping in Canada) and are worth every penny. Try one and tell us what you think!

I have seen that necklace in action and know that it helps alot. It is also hella attractive and kids love to show it everyone and discuss it at length with anyone willing to listen. I would get my Elise the pink and white flowers necklace. It is so pretty!
Keep up the good work……
After reading this post I decided that I want one! Not for teething obviously but for all the other benefits! After reading about the aduly bracelets, I found out that the benefits aren’t really there with such a small piece, so I wonder if I doubled or tripled them up????
I would probably chose the brown and beige.
How absolutely brilliant. I love how we can harness the benefits of nature. Just wonderful!!
I am due with my first in Dec and am just starting to read about products like these. The page describing the medicinal benefits of Hazelwood was all news to me. I’d love to give it a try. I would choose the green and blue necklace for my baby and the silver and grey adult one for myself.
I love using natural solutions for ailments. We are big fans of essential oils and the baby wears amber jewelry. I love the Tiny Star necklace!
A few of my friends have tried these and love them. I’m really interested in getting one soon, as I’m sure my 6 month old is going to start teething soon. I just don’t like the idea of rubbing numbing gels in her mouth…I would rather do something natural to help with the discomfort!!
I love the pink flower necklace! Neat idea..I had no idea that hazelwood had healing properties!

Me again,
I want to also have the amethyst and white necklace.
I think anything that helps with pain or discomfort w/o the use of medication is wonderful. I don’t like taking or giving meds unless absolutely necessary.
I think this is amazing! I want to order one for my husband!! He has skin problems, ear infections, muscular pain, fatigue and if this helps naturally without medication, I’d love for him to give it a try! My son has some skin problems so I’ll get one for my son too! I’d pick the Happy Face for my son.
Hi,
Natural products=less chemicals. Makes sense to me.
What a great idea! Anything to help with my little guys teething…and a natural product, even better. Thanks
I love natural solutions that cure ailments! I wish I knew about this when my litte guy was a baby.
Chemicals = Bad
Natural Solutions = Good!
I love the purple flower one…super cute.
I also love the fact that this is natural. I would definitely give it a try.
I would love to try this. I wish I knew about this when my kids were younger. I’ll try this for their excema.
I’m so looking into this for me and my damned heartburn (28 weeks pregnant), but for my one on the way, I love the green and blue one you used (the blue and light blue one would be second choice). For me though, I’d use this over medicine just cuz I’d rather give natural methods a shot first. I really would rather avoid medicines and drugs unless they’re really really needed – we’ll use them where they’re needed for sure, but i dont’ want to default to it.
I wish more people would try natural solutions than always using chemicals. I think there would be less problems if more people tried them. Thanks! Love your site!
Wow..all my family would benefit from these.
From the baby who has yet to experience cutting teeth, but has digestive issues. To my next daughter who has eczema issues, and to my poor 7 year old who has mouth ulcers and loose baby teeth!
What a great thing. And Canadian…LOVE that.
teeth…fun times to come! i’m liking the blue/green and the all brown for my wee monster.
Ugh, we are in the throes of the first molars and I’ve been looking for any kind of teething option. This sounds fantastic! I can’t decide whether I like the All Clear or the Brown and Beige but definitely one of those! Thank you!
I also like the purple flower one.. iluvmygrlz at yahoo.com
I think this is such a great idea, I’d love to try it with my little one. I’d probably choose the Two tone pink for her. Thanks!
This would be a great solution for my granddaughter. My favorite is the Black & Silver, probably in the 11″ for her.
Hello,
I will take whichever one they are willing to give me! They are all cute.
i would pick two tone pink thanks for the chance to win eaglesforjack@gmail.com
Definitely something we could use around here, I like that it is a natural solution. My favorite is the Tiny Star design.
