For those of you who haven’t heard of, or tried, Burt’s Bees products – you are truly missing out! Made from all natural, earth friendly ingredients, Burt’s Bees Baby Bee line has become a staple in our home.
Last year quaternium 15 (a preservative found in many liquid soaps and body washes – including commercial baby washes) was found to release formaldehyde when it breaks down, causing various types of dermatitis on sensitive infant skin. Since then, I have been scouring the pharmacy shelves trying to find baby products that are quaternium 15 free. I just can’t imagine having my Maddie soak-in, and eat bubbles from, a soap that I know contains formaldehyde. This is why we now use the Baby Bee Wash & Shampoo every time we bath. It’s quarternium 15 free, tear free, and over 98% natural. And since it’s made with citrus and coconut oils, it keeps her skin angel-soft and smelling simply delicious.
Lately we have also been using the Baby Bee Diaper Ointment. This ointment is 100% natural, it smells clean and fresh, and it glides on like a dream. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come in a larger size!
And for moms … I never thought much about what was in my lipsticks or lip glosses until I had a baby. I’m a bit of a lip biter, so I always used the hard-core super medicated lip balm (or else I would end up with really chapped lips). After having Maddie, every time I kissed her precious skin I could not help but wonder what my lip gloss was leaving behind. I was given Burt’s Bees Beeswax lip Balm for Christmas last year, and I was so impressed with how well it worked! It’s 100% natural, yet worked just as well as the medicated stuff, so I finally was able to give Maddie guilt-free kisses from head to toe.
In addition to all the classic product lines (face, hands, hair, body, etc), Burt’s Bees also carries a line for Men and a Sun & Outdoor line. Burt’s Bees products are very reasonably priced (especially compared to other natural products) and are available at most pharmacies and drug stores or on-line through the Burt’s Bees website.
