I had always hoped to wear Little Miss after she was born so when I saw a Gorgeous Baby pouch sling (with a stunning black & white toile print on one side and dad-friendly black on the other) at a baby fair I snapped it up and crossed my fingers she’d take to it. Following the advice of friends who left trying their baby in a sling until later on we actually put Little Miss in her sling at two weeks old. She fussed a bit in the beginning but as soon as I started moving around she promptly fell asleep leaving me to get on with whatever I needed to do – fantastic.
The things I love about my Gorgeous Baby sling actually extend beyond the sling and onto the internet – their website is fantastic! Aside from the free shipping in BC and across Canada on orders of over $100 they have an incredibly helpful page on how to wear your baby. This includes photos and video (brilliant!!!) of how to put the sling on properly, how to get your baby into the various positions and how to breastfeed in the sling (I’m still working on this one!) I don’t know the number of times I’ve referred back to this page – it is so incredibly helpful.
I love my sling and I find I use it around the house A LOT – being handsfree makes life so much easier and Little Miss is quickly comforted by the movement and closeness. It has definitely been a great help and I figure anything that makes a mother’s life easier is worth its weight in gold (or in this case $69.00!)
