Ever since finding out I was pregnant with my second child I spent a lot of time wondering how I am going to do everyday things like walk the dog, go to the store, etc. with a new baby and a toddler. I have decided that the answer is that this kid is going to be strapped to me most of my waking hours. And the Beco Baby Carrier is how I’ll make that happen.
I had in my mind the type of carrier I wanted, but didn’t know where to find one. So I started my research the old fashioned way – stopping people on the street who were wearing their babies the way I wanted to! Everyone I talked to loved using the Beco. Not only do they come in many stylish patterns, but they also offer carriers made with organic fabrics.
I haven’t had the chance to use mine but Emily was recently given one and I asked her to share her opinion. She says:
I really love my Beco – Little Miss is growing VERY fast so although she was outgrowing our beloved sling she wasn’t developed enough to move onto the next carrying positions as we were kind of stalled until I was given the Beco. Little Miss is more upright than in her sling but she’s so close and snuggled into me that sleep is almost inevitable. The only thing I will say is you definitely need to watch the DVD that comes with it because its relatively complicated to use properly and I found the two-handed clips at the shoulders a nightmare to do up (or undo) if I was on my own so I’ve started leaving one done up and sliding her in around it which works great. Best of all it is so compact it rolls up and fits in my diaper bag without any problem so I always have it with me!

I like the look of the Beco Carrier. The carrier has a long body that looks like it offers more support for baby and toddlers too.
They are not too flashy, I think the Avery one is the nicest design.
I like the Beco Butterfly Baby Carrier 2 in the Grace pattern.
It is so great to see a baby carrier that is fashionable and practical! I’ve previously used two other carrier brands and haven’t been excited about their ‘look’. The Beco’s look fantastic and have awesome features. I love the HUE collection – particularly the Grace and Lenko designs. it must be past my bedtime because i’m not entirely sure what i am supposed to comment on…which designs do i like best? as in which fabrics? i’m a basic black kinda gal.

I love the Lenka but will probably end up getting an Expresso or Metro Black so my husband won’t feel girly while carrying the baby
My favorite is the butterfly 2 in espresso! I like to keep things simple and have always loved the color brown for my first born son, now with baby boy # 2 on the way (due anytime now)this will definitely be handy! Also a plus that daddy can use it too.

My husband would probably prefer the neutral Espresso.

still like the Avery, but the black is nice too. I wonder how this compares to the Ergo carrier? I was thinking of getting the ergo since my sister swears by it, but I like the higher back on this one instead.

My husband likes the cedar swirl one, and I have to admit, it is pretty nice too! I love the fact that most of the patterns are mature….I cant stand Winnie the Pooh and other babyish looking stuff!

I know some one who has one of these and really likes it. Especially since you dont have to dish out another 40.00 on top if you want the infant insert like you do with the Ergo Carrier. She did say that it takes a lot of practice to learn how to use it and suggested a doll or stuffed animal so your babies head is not rolling all over. Work for me! I still am sold on the simplicity of the Avery design!
today, i’m picking the carnival pattern…it’s cold here and i need a little something to brighten my day. tomorrow i’ll be back to metro black!
