SugarBooger Is Just So Sweet!

SugarBooger, by company Oré, is one of those companies that has sooo many great finds that I’m at a loss for where to begin.  Not only are their products created with environmental sustainability in mind, but they are also ADORABLE.  Since I’m not sure where to start, I’ll just rambling off a few of my faves ….

Our first SugarBooger purchase was the Suctioning Plates (shown above).  These plates have a removable suction base which you can chose to use or remove.   They are made of melamine, so they are safe for your child as well as your dishwasher (yahoo!).  They retail for about $10, and this is a whole line of matching items, including cutlery, place mats, bowls, bibs, sippy cups, etc.

And then I found the Kiddie Play Pack (shown above).  Made from the same funky patterns as the dish sets, these back packs are amazing.  They have adjustable nylon shoulder straps, have a special place on the inside for you to write your child’s name and info, and are made of a waterproofed cotton canvas exterior with a durable nylon canvas interior (all parts are non-toxic and lead free).  Play Packs are machine washable – just hang to dry, and retail for about $20.   SugarBooger also makes Lunch Packs, which look very similar but are insulated!  The lunch packs retail from $15.

SugarBooger Floor Splat Mats (shown above) are perfect for feeding time, but also for playtime when you are on the go!  Also made of waterproofed cotton, the Floor Splat Mats are non-toxic and machine washable.  They measure 42″ x 42″ and make a great table cloth once your tot gets a bit older, and retail for $30.

And then there are the pirates … ooooh the pirates! (We here at Spilt Milk Moms have slight obsession with all things pirates!)  Pictured above is an amazing Horizontal Bath Tub Toy Bag, which suctions to your shower wall and holds all of your child’s bath time treats.  It has a mesh lined base, so it drains all the water out, and it’s PVC-free.  Tub Toy Bags retail for about $18.  SugarBooger’s pirate themed line is aptly called “Ahoy Matey!”

And finally, there is SugarBooger’s Bath Time Learning Shapes (shown above).  The bath toys are made of non-toxic, PVC-free, mold and mildew resistant foam.  They also float and stick to the wall, and include a variety of shapes and numbers for your child to practice with!  Bath Time Learning Shapes retail for $17.

All of the items I’ve talked about in this review are available in a variety of patterns, so you should really go to the SugarBooger site and check them all out.  The company also makes diaper bags, change pads, nursery organizers, tote sets, aprons, shower caps, gift sets (for both feeding and bath time), and every piece of feeding time related paraphernalia ever created.  I guarantee love at first sight!

UPDATED TO ADD: It has come to our attention that Health Canada has issued a recall for Sugarbooger® natural wooden baby rattles in the shape of cat or dog.

Testing by Health Canada in response to a consumer complaint revealed that both the feet and tails of the animal rattles impinge on the rattle gauge, posing a choking/suffocation hazard to young children. The feet and tails of the kitty and puppy rattles are small enough that they can enter into and become lodged in a child’s throat.  This toy does not meet the Canadian safety requirements for the size and shape of rattles.

Health Canada is aware of one report of the rattle releasing a small component while in use although there were no injuries as a result of the reported incident.
