I love, love, love these cool Dante Beatrix backpacks for kids aged two to 10. They come in two sizes – a line for little kids (aged two to five), and a line for big kids (designed for ages five to 10). It’s the cool, modern graphic on each bag that excites me about this company’s backpacks – I mean, really, how cute are these bags?
I purchased the above little kid backpack with the lion graphic for my son Oliver, just after he’d turned two, from Raspberry Kids. He took one look at the lion (this bag is called Rory – ha!), and roared. It was too sweet. Then, he proceeded to wear it around the house all day filled with his favourite stuffed animals inside. He even insisted that he wear it on a bike ride around the block, and later when we got home it had to be worn while he helped make grilled cheese sandwiches. Ever since then, Oliver has been using it to visit his grandparents on weekends with a change of clothes, his favourite book, and a beloved toy in his bag.
Dante Beatrix’s graphics are so cool that I had trouble deciding which one to choose, but my favourites are the Rory (pictured above) and the Percival (a dragon) for little boys, and the Esther (a bunny) for little girls. The big kid backpacks are a little different from the basic little kids’ line, as they are bigger (to hold all that serious school gear) and are designed with two side pockets, a large front pocket, and a smaller interior pocket inside the bag. My favourite big kids backpack is the Dieter pictured below.
Dante Beatrix bags are constructed from durable nylon and laminated canvas to ensure that they are easy to clean, and the Little Kid Backpacks retail for around $42 USD, while the Big Kid Backpacks cost about $52 USD (ouch – but worth it for me).
