The other day we were having some friends over for dinner and I was trying to reconcile my desire for a yummy dessert AND my craving for coconut (no, I’m not pregnant!). I decided to make these amazingly delicious cocoa brownies (substituting 1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut for the nuts), but I couldn’t find any coconut ice cream to go with them. In desperation, I grabbed the tub of Liberté Mediterranee Coconut yoghurt I had in the fridge. [...]

I sat down to write a post about a cool shape sorting box, and ended up falling in love with a company. EverEarth (by parent company Maxim Enterprise) creates sustainable wooden toys in an eco-friendly manner, literally from a tree sapling to a store shelf. The EverEarth line of gorgeous toys are constructed of solid wood from renewable forests, finished with non-toxic water-based paint, and minimally packaged in strictly recycled materials. This company truly takes ‘eco-friendly’ to a new level by only purchasing wood from nurseries that are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, which is an international organization that promotes responsible stewardship of the world’s forests. Kids say the funniest things. Oliver, aged two, and I were driving behind a dirty dump truck the other day, and suddenly he piped up from the back seat, “Look Mama, that dump truck has a dirty bum!” Ha! Usually, I frantically search for a pen and scrap of paper to jot down his witty sayings, and usually I come up empty handed and his musing go unrecorded. [...]
We recently put our house on the market which meant, not only was the house spic, span and shiny, we have the photos to prove it! When I looked at the photo of Little Miss’ nursery I was thrilled with how it looks, but I also thought it was a great example of how the Spilt Milk Moms live for the products we bring you.
I thought I’d point out some of the products we’ve reviewed that are “live” and kicking in my home:
* Name print (above crib) by Penny People Designs
* Giant Monkey (on chair) by BlaBla Kids
* Anamalz, Putamayo kids CDs, Owl by b.delicious (all on wall shelf)
* 3 Sprouts storage bin (in corner)
* The chair, roman blinds and crib bedding are all handmade with fabric from Nursery Fabrics.com (Thanks mum!) [...]
By now you all probably know about my obsession with green cleaning products, well Norwex truly takes the cake! Norwex is a line of cleaning products based on not using cleaners at all! Norwex has created a line of microfibre cleaning cloths (which collect more dirt and grime than regular clothes), AND, they have silver filaments woven into the fabric (which allows them to act as an antibacterial agent). The end result: you use the cloths with water ONLY and you can clean your house – top to bottom – without any chemicals. [...]

In my opinion, the only thing worse than socks that don’t stay on your baby’s feet is mittens that don’t stay on your toddler’s hands. Thank goodness for Canadian company mimiTENS, who has solved this problem by designing beautiful mittens that actually stay on your child’s hands. [...]
I have to say this DeLonghi coffee grinder may just be the best shower gift we received… it definitely was the most surprising but also quickly became the most relied upon. I’m not sure we would have made it through the first three months of parenthood without it. We have some fabulous friends who are super into their coffee and I think they were quite dismayed when they discovered we don’t grind our own beans so they set about converting us and boy did it work. There really is a huge difference with freshly ground coffee and I swear there were mornings where the smell of the beans kept me alive long enough to drink the coffee. [...]
