Mitts With No Strings Attached (Literally!) mimiTENS Giveaway

In my opinion, the only thing worse than socks that don’t stay on your baby’s feet is mittens that don’t stay on your toddler’s hands.  Kudos to Canadian company mimiTENS, who has solved this problem by designing beautiful mittens that actually stay on.

So – how do these mittens stay on your little one’s hands?  MimiTENS mitten have long, sock-like cuffs made out of stretchy cotton and Lycra that go past your child’s elbow.  All you have to do is roll up your child’s sleeves to put them on, then roll his/her sleeves down over the cuffs (or they can be work over sleeves but under the jacket).  Without fail, these mitts will stay on for as long as you’re outside, and for those of you living in places where winter bites (literally and figuratively), you know exactly how important this is in the battle against cold hands, crying/whining that one’s hands are cold, and frostbite.  And not only do they stay on, that gap that always forms between regular mitts and the child’s coat sleeve never happens.

mimiTENS makes two lines of mitts, one for babies up to 18 months called mimiTENS Soft manufactured out of environmentally friendly bamboo fleece, and mimiTENS All Weather for both babies (no thumbs) and toddlers two to five years (with thumbs) made of durable, water repellent nylon and insulated using 3M’s Thinsulate.  The insides of the All Weather mimiTENS are lined with the same Eco-friendly bamboo fleece that the mimiTENS Soft mitts are made of.

Now on to aesthetics.  I’m a HUGE fan of embroidered kid’s gear, and mimiTENS’ mitts are no exception.  All mimiTENS mittens are absolutely beautifully embroidered with the cutest designs.  My daughter owns the Robin ones pictured above, while our son chose the Dino Rocket mimiTENS.  From birds to owls to fairies and aliens, there are many designs to choose from, making it no problem to find a cute pair your child will love.

Two things set mimiTENS mittens apart from other mittens – not only are they the most beautiful mittens your child will ever own, they really do stay on.  It’s a bonus that mimiTENS are 100% manufactured in Canada, are Eco-friendly, and a portion of your purchase goes to a charitable organization.  mimiTENS is a huge supporter of Right To Play, an “international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in the most disadvantaged areas of the world”.  In fact, if you purchase mitts from the Clara or Steve + Simon collections, 50% of proceeds will go to Right To Play.  How cool is that?

Buy a pair of mimiTENS starting at $29.50 CAD, and be sure to check out other accessories in the mimiTENS collection including their fabulous hats and scarves.
