If you came over to my house for a visit, you would probably come across a stray sock lying on a couch, or under a table, or stuffed into a toy car. My 19-month-old daughter seems to have an issue with socks. She likes to pick them out, she likes to look at them, but she rarely likes to keep them on her feet. When I read that SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks “are perfect for children experiencing sensory processing differences, hypersensitivity or who simply can’t stand annoying seams”, I was interested to try them out on her tiny feet.
We received a few pairs of SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks for my daughter to try. The socks are designed to fit snugly to the foot, without wrinkles or bunching. Instead of the usual elastic band in the top of the sock, these socks are designed with a unique stitch called a Halo Top. The Halo Top is designed to keep the sock up but not bind or pinch the leg. The socks are also designed to reduce foot odor by wicking moisture away.
Admittedly, it’s difficult to determine exactly what a 19-month-old thinks of a pair of socks. I did notice that the days that she wore her SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks, she kept them on her feet for almost the entire day. The socks are very soft and cushy and she seemed to enjoy having them put on her feet. My daughter hasn’t been afflicted with stinky feet (for which we are all grateful) but that also means I can’t comment on the moisture-wicking capability of the socks. We were sent three pairs of socks: pink, purple and white. She still hasn’t touched the white socks. Both of my kids will choose brightly coloured clothing every time. The only suggestion that I would have for SmartKnitKIDS, is that they may want to consider adding some brighter colours and/or patterns for their socks. Currently the colours available for the kids socks are white, black, pink, purple, and navy.
