A Refreshing Summer with Tea Infusions

It’s freakin’ hot today!  Thank goodness I had the foresight to purchase Tetley’s Infusions Liquid Iced Tea Mix at the grocery store yesterday after having tried some at my mother’s house last week.  I usually make my own iced tea by brewing peppermint tea, adding some sugar and a little bit of lemon juice, and then cooling it in the fridge.  However, it hasn’t been that hot lately and I haven’t gotten around to even mixing up one batch of my homemade brew as a result.

Naturally sweetened using cane sugar instead of artificial sweeteners, Tetley Tea Infusions are concentrated packages of syrup which you add to cold water for an instant ‘iced’ tea beverage.  There are six fabulous tea-based flavours to choose from: Green Tea, Strawberry & Raspberry, Pomegranate, Cherry & Orange Blossom, Lemon, and Blueberry.  Each of them is refreshing and delicious!  One box contains six 30ml sachets of Tea Infusions, and each sachet has enough syrup to be mixed with 500ml (two cups) of cold water.

What I like best about Tetley’s Tea Infusions is that they are not overly sweet.  It almost makes me more thirsty when it’s hot out and my cold beverage is sickly sweet.  The convenience factor of simply adding a package of the Tea Infusions to water on-the-go is great, and I also prefer mixing syrup with water rather than crystals, which never quite dissolve and make for a gritty drink.  Another bonus is that Tea Infusions are easier on the waistline than those cold cream-based coffee beverages, with only 100 calories in one 30ml sachet (not to mention 0g of Fat, approximately 100mg of Sodium, 25g of Carbohydrates from Sugar, and 25% of your daily recommended dose of Vitamin C).  There are also only a total of six ingredients in this product (raw cane sugar, green tea, natural flavour, citric acid, asorbic acid, and sodium citrate).  Now that’s a refreshing twist on the traditional cold summer drink!

Find Tetley Tea Infusions at your local supermarket for under $3 CAD for one box of six sachets.
