Chill Monkeys Hats for Your Little Monkeys

Want a surefire tip on what is sure to be the coolest accessory for back to school? Check out Chill Monkeys Darwin Newsboy Caps! Designed and created by Vancouver mom, Alexis Hinde, the hats are the first in a series of boy’s clothing inspired by classic men’s style, vintage toys and historic photographs.

The caps come in brown, green and ivory & black (each of them have a contrasting limited edition lining) and have sizes to accommodate little ones from zero to five years. We were given a brown one for Maisie (above right) to try and we bought the green one for her little friend Bay-Isla (left), and as you can tell by the photo the girls loved them! Although Chill Monkeys specifically market their products for boys, as soon as I heard about them I wanted one for Maisie (girls can be classic cool too!).

The hats are very well made and the fabrics are beautiful – they feel thick and incredibly luxurious. The only thing that falls down for me is the price. At $34 CAD, they’re about $10 too expensive to fit my per child gift budget (they would make AWESOME gifts), and it’s a lot for most people (myself included) to spend on a child’s accessory. That said, if you prefer to buy Canadian-made, high-quality items, then these are definitely for you.
