Bath time started to get a little dull around here. Rubber duckie – check. Stacking cups – check. Tantrum when washing hair and no other toy would provide sufficient distraction – check. This was until I came across a really cool product reviewed at another blog site, Milliwik’s collection of floating playing cards. I managed to find them at half price on this site and went for the Sum Bodies pack – and they were a hit! [...] Continuing on with the love-fest between my son and books – I’m always looking out for his next obsession. I find the best place to learn about great books is at my friends’ homes (those with kids, that is). This is exactly how I found out about the adorable and endearing book Where is the Green Sheep by Australian authors Mem Fox and Judy Horacek. [...] Here at Spilt Milk Moms we are always looking for cool new products. But sometimes, as I evaluate the overflowing storage bins of toys in my house which my son intermittently plays with anyway, I wonder if we can just make do with what’s around the house. Hence this review, of the “non-toy” toys that may be lurking around your house, or ideas for common items that can spur the imagination. [...] Toys can easily start to take over one’s house. [...] For those of us who get a head-start on gift-giving for the holidays because we celebrate Channukah, it can be a bit harder to find that perfect gift for kids that doesn’t scream holiday kitsch. Luckily there is a time-tested classic that entertained ME as a kid that will hopefully entertain yours – a little CD called Latkes and Hamentashen by the talented and Canadian Fran Avni.
