Cocoon Couture Christmas Sacks

The Best Books for Girls (Big and Small!)

I’m a total bookworm, so the thing that I was most excited when we had a little girl last year was not buying way cuter clothes, shoes, and stuff like hair clips, it was sharing my very favourite children’s books with her!

Of course there is nothing wrong with sharing these stories with my son, but somehow I didn’t think he’d get the same warm fuzzies as I did growing up by me making him read Anne of Green Gables and anything by Judy Blume. I have to admit that when I was convinced our second child was going to be a boy, not being able to share such literary gems really bothered me. Lucky for me I got my girl to read these books to! [...]

pediped for Fabulous Holiday Shoes

Looking for a pair of nice holiday shoes for your little one this season? If you haven’t heard of or tried pediped footwear’s line of fantastic shoes for children, take some time to have a check out their great selection of shoes for boys and girls. Although the company was kind enough to send me a pair of their Austin shoes for boys to try out on my three year old son, I fell hard for the shoes when they arrived and absolutely had to have the Natasha’s (pictured above) for my one year old daughter as well. How amazing will those look with her little Christmas dress and black tights for her photos with Santa this year? [...]

Holiday Season Reviews

In preparation for the inevitable holiday shopping season we are in the midst of, next week will be dedicated to holiday gift ideas for you and your family. We even have a fantastic giveaway starting on Monday to kick it all off. If you are still stumped on what to purchase for that special little (or big) someone, we’d like to remind you that fabulous on-line retailer Raspberry Kids is offering the readers of Spilt Milk Moms 15% off of purchases made through their website using discount code spiltmilk15. [...]

Sleep Sweet Kid’Sleep

Over the last several months, my three year old, Oliver, has taken to rising early (despite the fact that it’s winter and dark!), staring into my face at 5:30am every morning asking me, “Is it morning time yet, Mama?” The problem, of course, is that toddlers simply don’t have a concept of time. Telling Oliver to go back to bed for three more hours or trying to explain to him that it wasn’t time to get up simply didn’t work, so I was thrilled when Live Love Dream agreed to let me try out their Kid’Sleep Classic wake up clock for children. [...]

Balboa Baby Shopping Cart Covers

Shopping cart and high chair covers are a clever way of solving the problem of dirty and germ-ridden shopping and dining out experiences. The problem is finding a cover that doesn’t resemble a parade float, and this is why I love the Shopping Cart & High Chair Covers produced by Balbao Baby. [...]

The Enchanting Wall Sticker Company

I’m not into the girly-girl type room where everything must be ultra pink, instead I prefer feminine yet classy and modern decor (not that pink can’t be classy, or course). While checking out the beautiful things available from Cocoon Couture (having been introduced to the company by fabulous on-line retailer Raspberry Kids), I noticed their range of beautiful wall stickers produced for them by The Wall Sticker Company. [...]

Nosefrida – a Snot Sucking SUPERSTAR!

If the only kind of nasal aspirator you are familiar with is the type typically sold at your local drugstore, now is the time to THROW THAT CRAPPY NASAL ASPIRATOR OUT! I’m about to introduce you to a TRUE snot sucking superstar thanks to the recommendation of one of our Spilt Milk Moms readers, Diana. [...]

TinyDiner Portable Placemat

My daughter FINALLY started eating pablum and solid foods, but one of the drawbacks of using Stokke’s Tripp Trapp high chair (which allows your baby to eat at the table with you) has been that the leftovers are cemented to the table. Permanently. It’s impossible to keep a placemat on the table when babies think they are toys, and inevitably the plate, bowl, or food ends up on the floor. Then I discovered Kiddopotamus’ TinyDiner Portable Placemat. [...]

MamaZone Eco-Responsible Diapers

Mama Zone generously sent me a package of their Eco-diapers by Moltex to put to the test on my 13 month old daughter a few weeks ago. I was intrigued about what was different about this disposable diaper – how can a company use the term Eco-responsible in the same sentence as the word diaper? [...]

Indestructible Books for Baby

Books that your baby are supposed to put into their mouth? Chew? Try to rip? Yup! Introducing Indesctructibles by artist, illustrator, educator and facilitator Kaaren Pixton. [...]

Stylish & Unique BabyBoo Bamboo Toques

I stumbled across Canadian company BabyBoo’s unique bamboo baby hats at a local boutique a few months ago, and Olga, the company’s founder, was lovely enough to send me one for Charlotte to try out (it arrived in a beautiful envelope adorned with ribbon and the company’s tag). Here’s the deal, though – BabyBoo’s hats are no ordinary hats. [...]

Three Cheers for WOW Toys!

One of our Spilt Milk Moms readers recommended we try out and write a review of WOW Toys, and we can’t thank Megan enough for the suggestion! She had us at NO BATTERIES REQUIRED … but there are even more benefits to WOW Toys that I want to share with you. [...]

Baby Carrying Made Easy and Stylish!

Even before kokopax agreed to send me their eco-classic carrier in sprout (pictured above) I was already thinking of ways in which I could use a back pack type carrier for my 12 month old. Charlotte is in the in-between stage where she’s not walking yet, is alright with being in the stroller, but really gets a thrill when riding on someone’s shoulders. I’m in the in-between stage where some days I wish I could just have an extra hand free to keep my three year old from jumping into traffic while rangeling the dog on her leash and picking up poop with a bag and soothing the baby at the same time. [...]
