I’m a total bookworm, so the thing that I was most excited when we had a little girl last year was not buying way cuter clothes, shoes, and stuff like hair clips, it was sharing my very favourite children’s books with her! Of course there is nothing wrong with sharing these stories with my son, but somehow I didn’t think he’d get the same warm fuzzies as I did growing up by me making him read Anne of Green Gables and anything by Judy Blume. I have to admit that when I was convinced our second child was going to be a boy, not being able to share such literary gems really bothered me. Lucky for me I got my girl to read these books to!
