One of the drawbacks of buying the safest, fanciest infant car seat thatyou can find for your brand new bundle of joy is that it likely isn’t going to be the lightest one you can find. Personally, I was willing to sacrifice the ease and convenience of toting around a light infant car seat for the peace of mind of protecting the health and safety of my newborn son withy a fancier, heavier one. Thankfully, this time around, I have some relief coming my way in the form of the Angel Arm by Baby Henry Co. [...]
Introducing dringdring hand-painted bicycle bells! dringdring sells the most beautiful, creative, bright, artistic, colourful and unique bicycle bells I have ever seen. I don’t know who was more excited when the company agreed to send us one to try out, me or my son (I think it was me, actually). Each original metal bicycle bell is hand-painted in the company’s Montreal, Quebec-based studio, and I promise you that you will have a hard time choosing just one. The bells are painted using Eco-friendly paints without solvents or toxic fumes, and they are first painted and then baked, making them resistant to all types of weather. I love that the company has a local organization that provides employment to young people from a diversity of backgrounds to apply their base coat. [...]
Measuring the height of my son is, for me, one of the great pleasures of parenting. It’s kind of like a measurement of how I’m doing as a mom to see that he is growing well, is healthy and happy, and that all the sleep interruptions are worth it. I recently came across the fantastic Canadian company Look Who’s Growing. They create personalized growth charts that will help me keep track of my son’s growth in a fun and seriously cute way! [...]
When Canadian company Silkberry Baby told me they would send me one of their gorgeous Toddler Comforters with removable filling in Pink Sheep to review, I was delighted. I insist on having quality, luxurious sheets on my bed, and my curiosity was piqued about Silkberry Baby’s quality, all-natural Eco-bedding for children. [...]
Juice is a treat for my kids, and when I do let them indulge I give them Leading Brands’ babyblue line of juices, which are made especially with children in mind. Charlotte and Oliver love the yummy taste of babyblue juices, and I rest assured knowing that their ‘treat’ is a healthy one. [...]
I currently am having a very difficult time getting Travis to eat anything that isn’t toast with butter, or bananas! You wouldn’t think that I would be having such a hard time given that his first solid food was broccoli, and he loved it! But alas, he has gone from super eater to super picky, so when I saw a bag of Ripe Kamoo Bars for sale from local company, Ripe Baby Food, I thought, “What have I got to lose?” Turns out, I needn’t have worried!! [...]
Anyone who has been shopping for maternity clothes in the last decade or so knows that you have your choice of 2 different kinds. The frumpy flowery kind that makes you look like you’re giving birth in the 1970’s, and the awesome kind which lets you look modern and pregnant and beautiful. KSeraSera Maternity shirts are of the awesome variety, making me feel like a modern pregnant girl with fashion sense. [...]
Yes, that picture above is my new super cool and stylish diaper bag; I know you’re envious! But you don’t have to be for long because you can order your very own Maxwell Designs diaper bag too! Local Canadian mom/designer, Maggie Chilton, created her company Maxwell Designs just before her first son, Maxwell, was born. She was searching for a diaper bag that but didn’t see anything she liked, or that fit into her lifestyle. She wanted a bag that didn’t look like a diaper bag, and one that was not made of plastic or vinyl – something unique! It was then that Maxwell Designs was born. [...]

The other weekend I was fortunate enough to go to the Port Moody Farmers’ Market where I came across a fantastic local clothing line called Starfish Kidz. The line was the creative result of three moms who wanted to make unique and affordable clothing; they succeeded! [...]
Before the Christmas holidays we had a huge giveaway from one of my favorite companies, Broody Chick, to test out their Sniffs and Snuffles. The jury is in, and I think we’ve found a winner! [...]
I’m not proud. When I was offered the opportunity to try out the Today I Ate A Rainbow! kit (a product that just might encourage my boys to eat more vegetables), I elbowed the other Spilt Milk Moms out of the way and claimed it as mine. I have four sons- I’m one tough cookie. That is, until supper time rolls around, when I can be found begging my sons to please. Just. Eat. Your. Vegetables. I’ve threatened. I’ve bribed. I’ve given in. I’ve held my ground. And in the end, the chickens usually end up eating the vegetables. [...]
GIVEAWAY! I love finding natural products for my children, and so I was really excited to discover Canadian company Coco & Tini’s natural bath products for children. Coco & Tini makes ‘naturally pure hair and bath care’ products for little ones. Not only do their products contain only 100% naturally-sourced ingredients, but Coco & Tini does and ‘will not use sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate, parabens, propylene glycol, artificial preservatives or artificial fragrances’ in any of their products. None of their bath products are tested on animals, and I love that Coco & Tini is committed to using recyclable materials in their packaging and printed material. [...]
GIVEAWAY! Have you ever thought about pulling your hair out and poking yourself in the eye at the same time as you wait and wonder how much longer you’re going to have to be in line at the border, or for the plane to start boarding, or in line at the grocery store? And all of these thoughts were there because you have a child, or even worse, children who do not like to be still, and so you’re trying in vain to think of things to keep their brain, and them, occupied. Not to worry, hope has arrived in the form of Spark Story Starters (available as an App or playing cards)! [...]
I’m really conflicted about the Wean Cubes I was sent by Wean Green. They’re super Eco-friendly (and cute!), which makes me want to luuuuuuuurrrrrrvvvvvvve them, but the day to day use makes me a little unsure about using them as often as I’d like. Let me break it down for you! [...]
