As much as I love spring, these days a little voice in my head keeps singing, “Rain, rain, go away!” If you live on the west coast, the only thing you can really do, though, is to just get out there with your family and do your best to stay dry, so I was thrilled when US company Baby Polar Gear agreed to send us their rain gear for infants to put to the test! When the Rain Poncho and Pants set arrived, we decided to REALLY see what it could do by sending the Poncho and Pants up to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, for our guest contributor Diana to try out. For those of you unfamiliar with Canadian geography, Prince Rupert has earned the reputation of Canada’s wettest city, with an average of 3111mm of rain (that’s ten feet!) per year. What better place to test rain gear for infants/toddlers? [...] Anyone who has been shopping for maternity clothes in the last decade or so knows that you have your choice of 2 different kinds. The frumpy flowery kind that makes you look like you’re giving birth in the 1970’s, and the awesome kind which lets you look modern and pregnant and beautiful. KSeraSera Maternity shirts are of the awesome variety, making me feel like a modern pregnant girl with fashion sense. [...] As a girl from Alaska living in Canada, I appreciate a cool toque. Between my husband and I and our four boys we have more toques than you can shake a stick at. I’ve been known to make fun of those moms who wear pyjama pants to drop their kids off at school. I should probably stop. Once toque-wearing weather hits, I find myself regularly pushing the limits as to how long one can go without washing one’s hair. Thanks to my toque, nobody’s the wiser. Or so I like to believe. I bet those pyjama-pants-wearing moms at least wash their hair. Anyhoo, when my sister called to tell me about Pook Toques, I had to have one. Thanks for sending me one to try out Pook! [...] Looking for a pair of nice holiday shoes for your little one this season? If you haven’t heard of or tried pediped footwear’s line of fantastic shoes for children, take some time to have a check out their great selection of shoes for boys and girls. Although the company was kind enough to send me a pair of their Austin shoes for boys to try out on my three year old son, I fell hard for the shoes when they arrived and absolutely had to have the Natasha’s (pictured above) for my one year old daughter as well. How amazing will those look with her little Christmas dress and black tights for her photos with Santa this year? [...] Paul Frank has been around for a long time, but it wasn’t until I had kids that I owned some of his products. Paul Frank gear is easily recognized by the very distinguishable monkey, Julius, that appears on everything in the line. There is an endless amount of products you can buy from Paul Frank, from adult clothing, to bedding, to handbags, to toys, to tech gear, to kids clothing. And it’s Paul Frank kids wear that I really love. [...] I stumbled across Canadian company BabyBoo’s unique bamboo baby hats at a local boutique a few months ago, and Olga, the company’s founder, was lovely enough to send me one for Charlotte to try out (it arrived in a beautiful envelope adorned with ribbon and the company’s tag). Here’s the deal, though – BabyBoo’s hats are no ordinary hats. [...] We have a Christmas Eve tradition in our family: the boys get to open one present from Grandma, and it’s always a brand new pair of pajamas to wear to bed. For the last few years, the boys were lucky enough to receive Hatley pajamas on Christmas Eve. I love looking back at our Christmas morning photos of the boys all decked out in their new jammies! Hatley clothes are designed to last, are made with natural fibers, and are just plain cute. The nature-inspired prints, like the Creepy Bugs print pictured above are my favourite! I have four boys and I know that the Hatley pajamas worn by my oldest son will eventually land in my youngest son’s drawer. I love that. [...] If you’ve read my past reviews, you’ve probably noticed a common theme with me: a desire to find cool clothing for boys! Not to disappoint, Fig Kids is a Canadian clothing line based in Vancouver made from 95% super soft organic cotton blended with 5% lycra. They have both a boys and girls clothing line, and their products go up to size 8! [...] If you have a son, or have gone shopping for little boys’ clothing, you know that shopping for them isn’t nearly as exciting as shopping for little girls. There is a limited market of cool apparel for young boys, and I get a little tired of the typical threads that are out there – after all, how can Travis show his unique style when he’s dressed like every other one year old?! Knuckleheads Clothing has changed my opinion on shopping for boys! [...] It can be very tricky finding the right clothes to wear once baby is born; you’re not feeling your most beautiful and you also require functionality and privacy for the times you are nursing in the company of others. Finally I was lucky enough to receive a nursing top from Momzelle – and how I wished I had this top from the beginning! [...]
