This is where Bermuda Babies Drool Bandana comes to the rescue for me. While my son lived in a bib as an infant to combat his projectile vomiting problem (so uncool), little miss Charlotte was gifted cutest little Drool Bandana in a pink floral fabric, and it is the most fashionable and functional accessory she currently owns. Not only does it look nice around her neck (she looks like a little bandit when it rides up her face), when Charlotte does upchuck in the car seat and I use the bandana to wipe her face, the pattern hides the mess and I get away without washing it for several days. And in case the mess is really bad, it’s reversible, too. Brilliant and fashionable! [...]
One thing I adore, after Little Miss and Husbando, is wine. Ahhh wine – how you have been there for me, in good times and bad and how sad it is with North America’s archaic liquor laws you can’t be with me say at a picnic or on the beach. Apparently the good people [...]
Sugarbooger is one of those companies that has sooo many great finds, that I’m at a loss for where to begin. Not only are their products created with environmental sustainability in mind, but they are also ADORABLE. Here are a few of my faves… [...]
Looking for an alternative to the plastic baby bottle? Check out these funky glass bottles with colourful silicone sleeves by Lifefactory! [...]
Mally Bibs truly are The Ultimate Baby Bib. They are functional, easy to clean, and adorable!  Say bye-bye to sticky, mouldy plastic bibs and the endless laundry piles of cotton bibs.  The adjustable magnet clasp makes them easy to put on, because tying a string around the neck of a squirmy toddler with long hair is [...]
I know my daughter is fairly well advanced in most areas. No, she’s not the genius her grandparents think she is, but I like to think my husband and I have done a good job of keeping her development on track…except for one department. We have been really resistant to let her feed herself with utensils. We like to blame it on the dog – one look at those puppy-dog eyes and she tosses her food right to him. But really, I know deep down we just don’t like to deal with the mess. So now that she is almost two, I think we need to let her at it. That is why I’m loving My Plate-Mate. [...]
I first laid eyes on Messed Up Bibs at a local baby fair, and I was immediately in love with the gorgeous birdcage fabric (pictured above). I didn’t even know what this product did, but I knew it would look beautiful on my little girl. So, of course, I had to stop and chat with the women running the booth. To my delight, the women I was speaking to were the creators of this fabulous bib, which is designed and made locally by who else but a couple of moms! [...]
This is one of those diaper-bag-must-have’s… Gerber’s Spill Proof Water Spout. Quite simply, it is a little plastic spout that attaches to virtually any style of plastic water bottle. Anywhere, anytime. So now, in case you are out and about and god forbid forget a sippy cup for your kid, you have the perfect solution! They come with a lid for easy transport, and they are easy to clean. [...]
Every mommy knows what an absolute life saver Mum-Mum’s are for babies. Any time I need two minutes of silence I break out the Mum-Mum’s, and it works every. single. time. Restaurants, grocery stores, doctors offices… the list is endless. Needless to say, I get really bummed when I open a pack of Mum-Mum’s just to find them broken to bits inside. Not only does the powder turn to goo when it meets water or saliva, but it’s also much harder to feed little bits to a baby then just handing them a whole rusk. I was constantly trying to find strategic places in my diaper bag to store my Mum-Mum’s so that they wouldn’t break… and then I was introduced to Cookie Safe. [...]
spud! is an online grocery store with a tonne of benefits. First of all, you can do your grocery shopping online and have them delivered to your front door. That alone was enough for me to check it out. (I have been that mom with the screaming child scratching and clawing her way out of the shopping cart too many times.) But it gets better. spud! is 100% carbon neutral! How do they do this you ask? Well, they offer local, organic, minimally packaged products, they deliver to each neighbourhood once a week on a set route to minimize driving time, and they donate leftover food to local food outreach programs. Sounds awesome, right? [...]
As a Spilt Milk Mom, it should be fairly obvious that I love all things baby related, and Crocodile Creek is certainly no exception. My love affair began with the Melamine Dish Sets, specifically the Garden Tumbler Set shown above. So sweet, simple, and safe, for when your wee one is learning to use a ‘big-kid’ cup. All of their melamine products are BPA free, shatter proof, dishwasher safe, and they conform to all the highest US and European safety standards. But most of all, I LOVE that you can get matching accessories in the same theme: bibs, place mats, lunch boxes, plates, bowls… the list goes on and on. And there are plenty of boys and girls themes to chose from! [...]
This is the kind of product we Spilt Milk Moms just love. A resourceful mom saw a need for a product, created it, and is now being praised by the likes of us for being so fabulous! How familiar are the stories of the melting puddle of popsicle, the dropped ice-cream cone, and the I-only-have two-hands-how-am-I-going-to-carry-my-kid-hold-back-the-dog-and-salvage-this-delicious-frozen-treat? Well fret no more, Meccina Price, mother of five, has invented a solution to these problems. It’s called a Dripstik. [...]
I look forward to receiving my Everyday Food Magazine in the mail every month. Once I get in the house (and as long as my daughter is willing to give me a few minutes to sit down on my own) I have to flip through and see what great ideas it has for me. This Martha Stewart publication is full of great stuff about food (obviously) and I feel like it is designed for the everyday person. You don’t have to be a Martha-Stewart-type to pull these recipes off. Most of the recipes use ingredients that are health conscious, medium to low in cost, and easy to find in a regular grocery store. [...]
If you have a toddler or know someone with a toddler chances are you know what a wonderful snack oat ring cereals are. (OK, who am I kidding. You know I’m talking about Cheerios.) They are not too messy, easily transportable, and fairly nutritious. They are a million times better than my old favourite, Fruity Pebbles, but I have recently discovered a more favourable alternative: Heinz Nutrios. [...]
My husband received Patio Daddy-O at the Grill: Great Food and Drink for Your Backyard Bash for his first Father’s Day last year, and he immediately grabbed the BBQ tools and headed out to the back yard. If you are looking for a Father’s Day gift for that hard to shop for dad, or the dad that loves to BBQ, look no more! [...]
