When T-dog was about six months old, he became unbelievably grabby! He would grab anything and everything within reach, and so I sadly retired my necklaces to the jewelry box fearing they would get broken. Therefore, it was with great excitement that I opened my new Teething Bling necklace kindly given to me from Smart Mom Jewelry. I find dads incredibly hard to buy for – they either buy themselves whatever they want or you’ve already gone down that “hobby” road so many times you’re bored of it (and probably stumped for ideas!) How about something completely different – how about something that puts dad more in the picture, shall we say? Family photo sessions are once again gaining in popularity and affordability. Gone are the cheesy backgrounds (who remembers a bridge in a park with autumn leaves?) and forced poses (a la Awkward Family Photos), today’s sessions are more playful, inclusive and, for the most part, more natural. Most local retailers (as well as baby fairs and swaps) will be able to highlight the photographers in your area, and of course the tinterweb is a great resource as it let’s you check out more of a photographer’s style and look. A photo session for dad with the kid(s) is a great opportunity to capture some of that dad magic and provide memories for years to come. [...] Recently my husband and I splurged and purchased a Nespresso machine. We figured that good coffee and raising a child go hand in hand. I had been introduced to one a few weeks prior, by a friend who had expressed her love for her machine. She was so fond of it, she had taken it with her when she last went on a trip to Seattle. I decided, if my friend couldn’t be away from her coffee maker for a night, it must be good. I was right and lucky for me, it wasn’t hard to convince my husband. This would be a fabulous gift for Father’s Day. My husband loves ours. I had no idea what to do for my husband for Father’s Day, when I happened upon a great craft idea. My husband likes practical items such as tools, but instead of just buying him a new tool, I decided to have our three-year-old son paint and decorate the handle for him to make the gift of a tool extra special.
