One of the nicest gifts we received for our daughter Charlotte when she was born was the organic/cotton Noonoo Design sheep rattle (pictured above). It became a staple in our daughter’s Bugaboo bassinet, and she loves looking at the contrasting black and white shades and giving it a shake now and again. Along with [...] Crystal Allen, the Canadian creator of Lilikoi Lane, approached us about trying one of her gorgeous handmade shirts. Once I knew that I was selected as the lucky Spilt Milk Mom to try out the shirt, I realized that I had my work cut out for me – Lilkoi Lane has so many unique and adorable applique patterns and so many gorgeous and funky fabrics to chose from. After chatting with Crystal, we opted for me to try out one of her newer designs: Alphabet Shirts! Not only does it look nice around her neck (she looks like a little bandit when it rides up her face), when Charlotte does upchuck in the car seat and I use the bandana to wipe her face, the pattern hides the mess and I get away without washing it for several days. The adjustable magnet clasp makes them easy to put on, because tying a string around the neck of a squirmy toddler with long hair is [...] I honestly can’t rave enough about the fabulousness of Little Star Greetings. After I wrote my round-up post on birth announcements, both Trea and I chose Little Star Greetings to do our birth announcements and we were both blown away with the level of customer service and the quality of the cards. Our love has only grown with the release of their latest product, LOL Sticky Labels (Lable Out Loud). They have happy colours and little kid prints, which are all adorable don’t get me wrong, but my style is much more along the lines of simple, normal looking baby clothes. I think there is nothing more adorable than a little man wearing a collared shirt and sweater vest, or a little girl in a sweater dress and boots. And this is why I love Tea. I don’t know how old I was when I first noticed them but eventually I realised that each of the plates recorded the details of my sisters and my births. My father had been in the UK merchant navy when I was born and discovered the plates whilst on a stopover in Holland, my mom loved them and despite emigrating to Canada they sent home and had them made for my sisters. I love the traditional blue & white Delft china and really wanted to carry on the tradition with my own family but wasn’t sure if I would still be able to find them. Although some of the vocabulary may be above their heads (I had never heard of an ursinia flower before reading this book!) but she will still get loads of enjoyment from the fact the characters are spelling her very own name. [...] I absolutely love babies. And I absolutely love stationery so it should come as no surprise that baby birth announcements may be one of my favourite things EV.AH! With our own little bundle of joy arriving in about a month I have been hunting high and low for the perfect birth announcement and thought I would share [...] Every now and then I stumble across something and love it soooooooooooooooooooooo much that it becomes my “it” present for that year. When I first saw the above Alphabet Prints by Penny People Designs I knew I just had to buy one for our little daughter-to-be and for every single child I knew! These bright, colourful, designs are iconicly cool with their alphabet lettering but what makes them even more special is that you can personalise them with the child’s name.
