I instantly fell in love with Kids Line nursery sets. They make decorating so easy because everything matches! From light switches and night lights, to frames and floor mats, you can add just the right amount of ‘theme’ to your nursery. And with so many styles and designs, you are bound to find one that works for you. [...]
Graco has numerous models on the market, and the Graco Ultra Clear Baby Monitor was the monitor we chose in the end. With two handsets, we can keep one on our main floor, and one in the basement, and with the light display screen we can ‘see’ our baby cry even if the hockey game is on at top volume. And it has two channels, so if one has interference, then you can switch to the other.* It’s functional, reliable, and it gets the job done. [...]
Once we discovered we were having a girl I immediately busied myself with one of my favourite activities – interior design! I found a lovely pair of spring green book ends that became my jumping off point for colour and quickly started searching for bedding. I quickly found myselfdisappointed. The patterns were either incredibly cutesy (something I was trying to avoid), were in the wrong colour or unbelievably expensive (I stupidly thought when I looked at one set that the $800 price tag was for the crib only to discover that’s how much the bedding set was!!!) Within two weeks I realised I was going to have to take the matter into my own hands and make the bedding I was looking for myself. [...]
Our glider-of-choice was the Rita Glider and Ottoman, available only at Costco on-line. We basically selected this glider based on price – it seemed to be the most reasonable in regards to value for your money. Most of the features were comparable to other gliders on the market, but retailing at $299, the Rita Glider was priced anywhere from $50 to $300 less. [...]
After lots of on-line searching I discovered Djeco, a French company that makes adhesive wall height charts. Well designed and beautifully illustrated, Djeco makes four charts: Friends From Amazon (pictured above), Animals, Princess Margueritte, and Fantastic Knight. My favorite part about these charts – the stickers are removable and can be reapplied, so no worrying about removing them to paint the wall or leaving your homemade chart behind when you move. [...]
Once I saw how my friend used the Eeboo Wall Cards as a border around her son’s room I knew I would steal the idea. And once I had a child’s room of my own to decorate, that is exactly what I did! Maybe it is the teacher in me, but I love the idea of using the beautiful alphabet set, Animal Parade, to add warmth and character to Sophie’s room. Now that she is aware of the cards, she is constantly pointing and asking me “What’s that?” (although to the untrained ear is sounds more like “Guh?”). There are a number of different wall card sets to choose from, all of which are created with original art by illustrators of children’s books. [...]

Inspired by the birth of her first daughter, the company’s creator and president, Jacqueline De’Ath, decided to turn her hobby into a home business. Her online store sells handmade wood furniture and gorgeous handmade wood accessories, including a Girl, Boy, and Home Collection. [...]
I have noticed a growing trend in the last few years of mom’s creating their own companies. Perhaps they discover an untapped ability or a missing niche in the market or, in the case of B.Delicious founder Jennifer Talbot they take their pre-mommy skills (Jennifer was an installation artist pre-children) and use them in a new arena. [...]
When I picture mobiles, I think “works of art suspended in air”, not “Winnie-the-Pooh and friends travelling in circles to irritating battery operated music”. Flensted mobiles to the rescue! [...]
